Crap! After all my testing, I found a deal-breaker today and will most likely have to send the Queen’s Keep back to Mature Metal to check out… 🙁 All related to that darn security screw again!
I fit everything back together again dry (not on my person!), and secured it with the screw so I could make sure I knew for sure how to best get it loose again.
Well, I don’t know if I just tend to tighten it too much or what, but right now I CANNOT GET IT OUT!! The inside of the screw head looks ok, I think, but I really do think I’ve rounded out some of the edges on both keys making it impossible for them to get a good enough grip to unscrew it! I tried taking a few pics of the tip of the keys, but it was very hard for the camera to actually focus on that and I’m not sure they’re really clear on what I’m talking about:
I sent an e-mail to Mature Metal earlier today explaining the situation and sent them the same pics, so I will wait to see what the response is. If I can’t get it out though, I don’t think I’ll have any choice but to send the whole thing back and hope THEY can extract the screw!
Looks like I have no choice but to abort my plans of giving Angel the keys prior to our Thanksgiving vacation, and wait until I have worked out this little issue!
Good thing you made that discovery with it off of you! You can definitely see the wear on the keys in the pics you posted. Hope they can figure out a suitable resolution for you.
You’re sure right about that! I think it had already happened to one of the keys, and I already freaked out a tiny bit a few days ago when I was having some trouble getting it off of me. But I eventually managed to get it with the second key, and figured it was probably just a fluke instance. This time though, since I’m not wearing the device it’s a lot easier to get more leverage, and still NEITHER key is working to get it loose! It would have been VERY bad if I was wearing it now; I have no clue what I would do! 🙂
Guess you’d have to get out the power tools? Just kidding! 😀
