PLEASE follow this link and read Dave’s post below! I published a similar plea about a year or so ago for UK residents to go sign a petition about a similar law that was being passed there. Now that it’s in the U.S., I should do the same. I have signed the petition myself, and urge others to do the same.
While no doubt everyone with any conscience is all for stopping sex-trafficking, this bill is far too vague and puts very undue responsibility on the “host” sites. It’s actually best stated directly within the petition itself:
…. “They are public forums and marketplaces, you wouldn’t hold a shopping center or hotel criminally liable for a prostitute on the corner, would you?”
the US Senate has passed the anti-sex trafficking bills SESTA/FOSTA . The bills now go to the US Pres. for signing
