Since I have been sharing here on my blog pretty much everything going on in my life lately as relates to chastity, I thought I’d go ahead and share some of my recent reading material as well! I came across this book, “The Toybag Guide to Chastity Play,” and thought I would pick it up and see if it happened to offer any other insights into the lifestyle than what I have already learned/experienced for myself.

It was a very interesting read! (and NO, I am not being paid at all to promote books. 🙂 Everything here is only MY opinion and I just call it as I see it!) I liked that this is a small enough book that I could read through it relatively quickly, yet it’s chock full of all kinds of useful information about chastity! The first couple of chapters are mainly about the history and early designs of chastity devices. That is interesting, yes, but I did find myself skimming some of those pages rather quickly until it got to the parts about chastity making its way into more modern day “kink.” Then it started to resonate more with me and I did agree with a lot of the statements in the book about “why” a person might voluntarily wish to be locked up and have their orgasms completely controlled by another individual!

The author, Mistress Simone, apparently has (or had–I’m not completely sure of the timeline here) a number of “slaves,” both male and female, engaged in various forms of chastity.  This includes everything from an actual physical device such as I wear, all the way to things like hypnosis and more “advanced” mind control. At the first pass, some of that stuff seems to be far beyond my level of play, but the more I’ve thought about it that’s not necessarily true. I would like to think that at this point even if I was NOT locked, Angel would still be able to control my orgasms with simple words, instructing me not to do anything like that (either alone OR with her) until she explicitly allows it. I would, of course, follow her directions to the T out of the sheer respect and love that I have for her, not to mention my deep desire to please her in any way she wishes. If I am not to touch myself, much less orgasm without her, I would feel very badly if I ever DID do those things and disappointed her while unlocked. But I digress… That probably wasn’t really the point being made in the book! Lol

Simone then proceeds to give a high-level overview of different types of chastity devices (plastic, silicon, stainless steel, full belt vs. cage-style, etc.) and how to go about choosing an appropriate type of device based on factors such as anatomy and chastity “goals.” She only mentions a few specific models by name, as examples. I was pleased to see very good remarks made about Mature Metal’s “Jailbird” device. That was the other model which I had considered purchasing, and was a precursor to the Queen’s Keep.

Anyhow, to wrap up my little “book report” here, I do think this would be a good resource for anyone with an interest in chastity, whether just starting out, a seasoned “pro,” or anywhere in between. Some of the more “advanced” concepts get into things like extreme tease & denial and even “prostate milking.” That all seems rather interesting, but the latter most likely will not be in OUR future, as Angel isn’t really into anything anal at all, from either side. That is fine though; we still have PLENTY of other ways to have lots of fun when I am locked for the long term!

  1. Thank you ever so much for reviewing my little book on one of my favorite lifestyles, chastity. I tried to make it accessible for all levels from beginners to hard core keyholders. It was very challenging to research female chastity in its present form. The social concept is one of the virgin in a steel belt to prevent loss of virginity, especially as women were once considered highly valuable property. It was used as a means of protecting one’s investment. Modern day social structure has eliminated the need for such machinations. This was reflected in my search for current information such as blogs or websites dedicated to female chastity, as well as actual practical devices for women to wear. The one blog pcguy mentioned was a good one, but is now defunct. All the so called devices I found on shop sites were useless- more just for looks than actual restriction. I searched for days to find decent devices and resources to no avail.
In regards to the male portion, I tried to discuss practicality for considering chastity and what some of things one might encounter. As there are so many devices out there, I chose to concentrate more of the whys and hows of entering chastity, and what to look for in a device in general.
I am glad you enjoyed the book, and I want to congratulate you on a wonderful blog.

Well there we have it – straight from the author herself, Mistress Simone! Thank you very much for reading my blog, and for the great feedback! 🙂

I do find it a little odd that it is so difficult to find any good information on female chastity. I would suspect that there are plenty of women who might enjoy that sort of thing just as much as men.. But I guess anatomically speaking it probably IS much more difficult to come up with a female device that would actually be somewhat sustainable for long-term wear. Male devices are much more prevalent as well as fairly affordable for anyone serious at all about trying it out.

I have read parts of this book while we are slow at work, and I have liked the pages that I read. I’m glad you wrote this. It will be a great help for customers who come in and ask about chastity play. I have been interested myself, but I really haven’t found any good female ones that I feel would work too well. Any tips or products you would recommend?

Speaking of reviews, my partner is willing to buy a silicone birdlocker. Would you advise it? Are yoi still using a cb-xxx?

    • pcguy0681 says:

I don’t have any personal experience with silicone devices, so I may not be the best person in the world to ask–but I would think that it might be fine for a beginner device just to get a feel of what chastity is like. No, I am not using the CB-6000s anymore, as I have actually moved on to a custom fit stainless steel device, which I highly recommend to anyone who gets seriously into the lifestyle!

The only thing I can see as a potential problem with silicone, would be that it’s somewhat stretchy. On one hand, I can see why that would be appealing because it might be more “comfortable.” On the other hand though, as your body adapts to it (and it will!) I can see how it might tend to slip off easier. The penis/balls seem like they are constantly changing their shape and size at least slightly, and will eventually find a way to squeeze through anything that’s not appropriately sized…

I did like the CB-6000s, as it had many different rings/spacers, etc. to make sure I could eventually find the right size through trial and error. That helped a lot too, to be able to use those sizes as a guide when ordering my custom metal device. Like I said, the silicone might still be fine as well, I just don’t know enough about it to be able to give the best advice.

If any of my other readers on here have any experience with silicone chastity devices, please feel free to comment on the matter as well! 🙂

Yes please any suggestion from other readers is welcome.
As you’ve said the more common problem risult to be that usually things squeeze through and out the silicone device. My man have been using a cb6000 for two months, he did’t feel enought confortable wearing it at work so he use to put it on and off often… Then it finally broke. Now he misses chastity but we’re looking for a better solution, something he could wear for loger… I’m afraid birdlocker isn’t the solution 🙁

        • pcguy0681 says:

Since he already has some experience with chastity so would already know how things tend to fit, if it’s affordable at all I would HIGHLY recommend looking into a custom-fit stainless steel device for longer term wear! It is by far the most comfortable device I have ever worn, and I don’t have to worry about it breaking, either! Just some food for thought…

Interesting. I know (of course) about chastity belts for women, but they sound like something Maid Marian wore to ward off the sherrif of Nottingham, not something I could wear in 2015. I work as a paralegal & have to go through a metal detector to file papers in the court building, and I’d rather not say “oh that’s my chastity belt for BDSM chastity play” when the metal detectors beeps. One thing to be into chastity play, another thing to have strangers know it. Right now, I tell myself I’m waiting for the right guy (I’m single, unowned), that even though I am not a virgin, my orgasms will belong to that One when I meet him and I have no right to give what’s his to another, or to touch myself. Admittedly, though, I have touched myself a few times. Which is why I’m curious as to what’s new (and not metal) in women’s chastity.

    • pcguy0681 says:

Yes, female chastity belts intrigue me too, I just can’t really see how they could possibly be very practical for very long-term.. They pretty much have to be a “belt-style,” as opposed to many male devices such as mine which just lock on around the balls.

I know there are leather belts that can be locked on with small padlocks, but obviously that would be just for short-term “play” since it would have to come off to use the bathroom, shower, etc. The only devices I would think MIGHT work for longer term would be metal, but you’re right–that would be a lot to have to explain at a metal detector every day! And I just don’t know, how day-to-day hygiene would work in a full belt like that…

I highly encourage anyone (male or female) who’s interested in chastity to explore it as much as they can. I know it has been a very rewarding experience for myself and Angel, at least! Unfortunately, from what I’ve been able to see I think that’s one thing that is much easier at this point for a man to get into than a woman, simply because of the number and variety of different devices out there.. Good luck to you!

      • Cara says:

Well yeah, those leather things don’t seem hygienic. I’d have to remove it to shower, and the shower is where I like to touch myself. Also, what do you do during that time of the month? Well, you’re a man, you don’t know what any woman would do in a leather device at that time of the month. But I should maybe find out before I invest in such a thing. Clearly more research & development needs to be done.

    • I have researched different types of chastity for women as I have men. There are “tie” chastity where you will need to have many piercings what really stood out to me. But unless they make plastic ties, which I’m sure they do, all seem that they would go off under the scan of a metal detector.

      • Cara says:

Don’t the makers of these metal things know some of us live in NYC? I have to go through a metal detector even to go to a ball game, and God forbid I wanna go to a club…but yeah, if my boss sends me to file papers at the court building & I set off the metal detector & say “I’m not a terrorist, I’m just into chastity play”, I’m getting some weird looks from strangers.

        • Women tend to be aroused differently than men. Men are more visual and touch where women tend to be more mental and feelings. Chastity is about the control, the denial, the frustration and the arousal for men. Does chastity do the same thing for women?
