Thrill of the Chaste

It’s been a rather long couple weeks around our house, but at last Angel did manage to finish up all of the work that she had to have done before her extended holiday break! Furthermore, it may not have happened exactly like I imagined (what ever does? Lol) but she has seen the Queen’s Keep!

Since she has finished up with work for the rest of the year, we decided kind of last minute to go ahead and get a babysitter and catch a movie this evening (Friday, in case it ends up being later before this is published! ) When I was in the bedroom changing out of my work clothes, Angel came in the room and suddenly had a renewed interest in what I was locked in. I hadn’t seen her show near that much attention for a while, which was totally understandable given her hectic work schedule! I had just pulled up my pants, when she came over saying flat out that she wanted to see it. Was I wearing the same thing as before? The answer of course, was “No I’m not,” and I went ahead and showed her exactly what it is.

I couldn’t completely read what she was thinking, but at least she was definitely not put off by it! Her first words were simply “Whoa! Does it hurt?” I assured her that no, it really didn’t hurt in the least. In fact it was even more comfortable than the other plastic one (not that even THAT one was particularly uncomfortable!) And that was pretty much it for that conversation at the moment as our three year old came to join in the fun! As it turns out, Angel did like the poem, just didn’t really “get” it, and frankly just had too much else going on at the time to follow-up with it. I completely understand that, and I know my timing could have been a lot better.

The good news is that at least Angel knows about the Queen’s Keep and we’ve at least STARTED a conversation about it! We haven’t really had time yet for her to truly take “advantage” of the situation, but I suspect that will be coming along soon enough. [At least SHE’LL be coming–the verdict is still out about ME! 😉 ]
