Measuring & Ordering from Mature Metal

As I alluded to with very early blog entries here, I recently ordered a new chastity device from Mature Metal, called the Queen’s Keep.  I want to document my experiences with the Queen’s Keep and give an adequate review of it.  So far, I can only really speak to the ordering process, of which I had zero complaints!

I came across Mature Metal from a different chastity forum, and they seemed to have a very good reputation for good customer service and well-crafted products.  I also really liked the fact that it is a U.S. company, so it shouldn’t be too much issue in the event I ever had to send the device back in for adjustments or anything.  I browsed their site, and found most of the chastity devices they sell have basically the same description of how they fit, are lightweight and good for long-term wear, yada yada. All of the reviews for each device also seemed equally positive, so it was difficult to identify a “best” device from their catalog… it seems to be pretty much up to a person’s own aesthetic tastes as to which design to choose.   For myself, I quickly narrowed it down to either the Jail Bird or the Queen’s Keep, because I liked the little bit more “open” design of those two. All of the others seemed to enclose the penis in too much steel for my liking.  Between those two, I ended up deciding that I did like the thicker bar at the very back of the cage portion of the Queen’s Keep, so that is the model I went with.

From all the info I could gather it seemed by far the most important part of the ordering process was getting good measurements for a custom fit.  Since I was no stranger to chastity and have already used the CB-6000s extensively, I already had a pretty good idea on the ring sizes, etc. But better safe than sorry, so I went ahead and ordered the sizing kit for $20 as well.  Obviously I had been giving some thought to this purchase for a little while, and took some time to get some measurements while NOT locked in the CB-6000s! The sizing kit consisted of about 9 different sized rubber rings, to see what fit the best for a base ring (all the way around the penis and balls) as well as measuring the inside diameter of the cage (as small as possible when completely soft.)

I started with the 1 3/4″ base ring, since that is what I currently use. As I am used to the open-top design of the CB-XXXX base rings, it was interesting to see how I would go about squeezing into a solid round ring. It wasn’t really as complicated as I had envisioned.  I basically just pushed one ball at a time through the ring then tucked the penis down and through as well.  Obviously had to be quite soft for that to work! That size ring fit very well, and didn’t get uncomfortable at all when I kept it on for a while.  One thing I was immediately impressed by, is how thin these rings are compared to the thick plastic I’ve gotten used to. I am hoping that is true to the size of the real stainless steel ring! I was pretty sure this was going to be my size, but thought I’d go ahead and try one size down as well, 1 5/8″. I got into it ok, but it was definitely quite a bit tighter.  I know tighter is generally better when it comes to chastity, but it didn’t take very long wearing that one before it did start getting a bit painful, like some circulation was getting cut off down there.  That’s not good–1 3/4″ it is! I was also intrigued by their option to get the base ring as an oval shape rather than perfectly round. Reviews all seemed to praise that design as much more comfortable, so I decided to try that out as well.

Next I took a stab at measuring for the inside diameter of the cage. I know the CB-6000s has an inside diameter of 1 3/8″ and that works well. I tried the 1 1/4″ ring as well.  Again, I got that one on, but it was extremely snug and I was worried about rubbing (the bad kind, that is!) So I’ll stick with status quo on that one as well.. 1 3/8″ it is.

The trickiest measurement is for the length of the cage. The CB-6000s is 2 1/2″ long, but as I’ve said it certainly is quite a bit too long sometimes, especially when peeing.  The instructions are to take multiple measurements at different times of a completely flaccid penis.  It seemed like I measured different lengths pretty much every time I tried it, but finally reached a consensus that the smallest I get is about 2″. I’d read posts from a number of people saying to subtract about another 1/2″ from that number for a final measurement. 1 1/2 seemed like it would be extremely difficult to ever squeeze into, but I did decide to go ahead with 1 3/4″ for the length.  I HOPE I made good decisions about all of those measurements. I suppose time will tell!

Dimensions in hand, the actual ordering process was extremely easy. There was a very simple form to fill out online with all of the options and sizes desired.  The checkout process was a redirection to PayPal, so I felt confident with my payment info from there.  Afterwards I received an e-mail confirmation of my order with the estimate of 6-8 weeks to build and ship my custom device.

I am very excited that it will already be 6 weeks as of this coming Friday!  There haven’t been any follow-up e-mails yet from Mature Metal but I’m not worried at this time. I am assuming there won’t be any more communications until it is ready and being shipped.  So I will give them at least the full 8 weeks before I get concerned about it.  I’m really looking forward to seeing how everything fits and compares to my CB-6000s.
